I didn't take this photo, but I love it. It's my parents' wedding, June 1, 1974, in Altoona, PA. I scanned it today from an old album and had fun with it in Photoshop, bringing it back to life a little.
Amateur comes from the French and Latin, meaning "one who loves."
The Oxford English Dictionary defines it thus: 1. One who loves or is fond of; one who has a taste for anything. 2. One who cultivates anything as a pastime, as distinguished from one who prosecutes it professionally; hence, sometimes used disparagingly, as = dabbler, or superficial student or worker.
Project 365 is a photography challenge which asks amateur photographers to chronicle their surroundings for one year, recording one photo per day.
I am certainly an amateur (amateuse?) and this is my project.
